Mountain Paws Cabins: Frequently Asked QuestionsAre all of your cabins privately owned? Yes, all of our cabins are owned by private individuals who have made a large investment in furnishing them. We ask that you treat these homes with respect. What do I need to bring with me? We supply all of the linens, towels, pots, pans, kitchen utensils, paper products, salt, pepper, saran wrap, foil, cream, sugar, dish soap, dishwasher soap and laundry detergent. A starter supply of firewood is provided for wood-burning fireplaces and fire-pits. All you need to bring are you groceries and personal items. What's your Pet Policy? We encourage you to bring your 4-legged family members. Because we want to make sure that everyone has enough room to be comfortable, please tell us that you're bringing your pets with you. If your pet is accustomed to being in a crate, please be sure to bring it with you. Please remember that any damages to the cabin or it's contents will be charged to your credit card. Also, please remember that cleaning up after your pet is your responsibility. We supply you with pooper scoopers and clean-up bags. Of course if you decide not to clean up after your pets, we'll reluctantly do it and charge your card accordingly. Do you charge any pet fees? No, you do not pay anything extra to bring your pet. Do you allow smoking in the cabins? No, all of our cabins are strictly non-smoking! You may smoke outside or on the decks as long as you don’t throw your cigarette butts on the ground. You will be charged an additional fee if we have to clean up behind you. Will I have cell service at the cabin? Cell service can be very sporatic in the mountains. You will be able to have AT&T or Verizon inside some of the cabins or outside most of the cabins. None of the other cell providers have service in this area. What kind of wildlife will I encounter? You are coming to the mountains and national forests, so you are likely to encounter deer, foxes, raccoons, snakes and various insects like wasps, bees, flies, lady bugs, scorpions, etc. There is also the possibility that you may see a bear in some of the more remote locations. What about shopping and grocery stores? You will find a Super Wal-Mart and an Ingles grocery store when passing through Ellijay which is about 16 miles south of In Blue Ridge, you will find a Food Lion and an Ingles grocery store. They sell beer and wine Monday through Saturday. There is a small IGA grocery store in McCaysville for cabins in that area. We recommend that you do your major grocery shopping in Blue Ridge where there is a larger selection of items and labels. What about alcohol? Blue Ridge is in a dry county, but you can buy beer and wine in the grocery stores Monday through Saturday. Restaurants in the city of Blue Ridge do not allow alcohol, but most of the restaurants outside of the city limits will let you bring in your own beer and wine. Can I use my GPS or Navigation System? Most of the map programs cannot find the roads in this area. If you follow their directions, you will get lost. You can use them to get to the cities, but please use the directions that we send you to get to the cabins. When is check-in/check-out? Check-in time is 3 PM. Please do not attempt to arrive at the cabin prior to that time unless you have made arrangements for this with us. Check-out is by 10 AM. Unless you have made prior arrangements, please make sure you have departed by that time. The cleanliness of our cabins is of the utmost importance to us and we only have limited amount of time to get the cabin and hot tub cleaned and prepared for the next guest. |
