Mercier's Orchard |

| Mercier Orchards has been welcoming visitors with a taste of the mountains for over 50 years. Tourists by the bus load stop each day to sample their products and shop for gifts to take home. They grow almost 20 varieties of apples and also have peaches, blackberries, raspberries, blue berries and locally grown vegetables available. The bakery makes their famous fried pies, pastries and bread and the café is a great place for a quick lunch. You can find locally made jellies and jams, honey, smoked trout, gourmet meats and cheeses. In September you can take a wagon ride and go out into the orchard to pick your own apples. Blue Ridge Scenic Railway |
|
| The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway runs along the scenic Toccoa River from the old depot in downtown Blue Ridge to McCaysville, GA from March to December. You can explore the shops and restaurants in McCaysville and then walk across the “blue line” that signifies that you are now in Copperhill, TN. The ride is about 3 ½ hours round trip and there is shopping time in McCaysville. |

Swan Drive-In |

| As one of only four drive-in movie theaters still operating in the state, the Swan Drive-in Theater is a great time for the entire family. Chattahoochee Fish Hatchery |

| The Chattahoochee Forest National Fish Hatchery in Suches, GA distributes over 324,000 rainbow trout annually to the local trout waters in North Georgia. If you want to catch a trout or see a lot of them, this is the place to visit. The hatchery sponsors several fishing rodeos and educational programs throughout the year. Rock Creek runs through the hatchery and offers some great trout fishing. Bring your own rod, reel and bait and make sure you have your Georgia fishing license with you. There are campgrounds at either end of the property that can be used too. Call the hatchery for hours and directions. |

Brasstown Bald |
|
At 4,784 feet above sea level, Brasstown Bald is the highest mountain in Georgia. There is a 360 degree view of 4 states at the top of the mountain along with the visitors center and a theater showing a video presentation of the beauty of the changing seasons on the mountain. There is a “cloud forest”, the only one in Georgia, below the peak to the north and east. The steep trail to the visitors center is a ½ mile long and there is a shuttle service available for those who don’t want to walk the trail. For more information, please call the visitors center.

Dahlonega Gold Museum |

The Dahlonega Gold Museum in Dahlonega, GA details the history of the gold rush into the Cherokee Nation in North Georgia in the 1800’s. The museum's exhibits include a set of these coins, a nugget weighing more than five ounces, a large hydraulic cannon and nozzle used to blast soil from mountainsides. While in town, why not pan for gold with one of the local shops.
