What To Know About Renting A Georgia Mountain Log Cabin or Vacation Getaways
Blue Ridge, Blairsville and North Georgia Cabin Rental Frequently Asked Questions

If you have never rented a cabin in The North Georgia Mountains, you probably have some questions about what to do or what to bring. Here are a few of the most frequently asked questions.

Are all of your cabins privately owned?
Yes, all of our cabins are owned by private individuals who have made a large investment in furnishing them. We ask that you treat these homes with respect.

What do I need to bring with me?
We supply all of the linens, towels, pots, pans, kitchen utensils, startup of paper products, hands soap, shower soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap and laundry detergent as part of our courtesy for your arrival. Also, we welcome you and your family with a gift basket to say thank you for staying with us.
A starter supply of firewood is provided for wood-burning fireplaces only. All you need to bring are you groceries, extra supplies and personal items.

What’s your Pet Policy?
We encourage you to bring your 4-legged family member. Because we want to make sure that everyone has enough room to be comfortable, please tell us that you’re bringing your pet with you. If your pet is accustomed to being in a crate, please be sure to bring it with you. Please remember that any damages to the cabin or its contents will be charged to your credit card. Also, please remember that cleaning up after your pet is your responsibility. Bring with you a pooper scooper and clean-up bags. Of course if you decide not to clean up after your pet, we’ll reluctantly do it and charge your card accordingly. Pets are not allowed to sleep on the beds or furniture, if we find pet hair on the bedding or furniture we will charge you for extra cleaning.

Do you charge any pet fees?
No, you do not pay anything extra to bring your pet.

Do you allow smoking in the cabins?
No, all of our cabins are strictly non-smoking! You may smoke outside or on the decks as long as you don’t throw your cigarette butts on the ground. You will be charged an additional fee if we have to clean up behind you.

Will I have cell service at the cabin?
Cell service can be very sporadic in the mountains. You will be able to have AT&T or Verizon inside some of the cabins or outside most of the cabins. None of the other cell providers have service in this area.

What kind of wildlife will I encounter?
You are coming to the mountains and national forests, so you are likely to encounter deer, foxes, raccoons, snakes and various insects like wasps, bees, flies, lady bugs, scorpions, etc. There is also the possibility that you may see a bear in some of the more remote locations.

What about shopping and grocery stores?
You will find a Super Wal-Mart and an Ingles grocery store when passing through Ellijay which is about 16 miles south of Blue Ridge. You will also pass by Appalachian Beverage where you can purchase beer, wine and alcohol Monday through Saturday. These will be the closest stores to cabins in the Cherry Log area. In Blue Ridge, you will find a Food Lion and an Ingles grocery store. They sell beer and wine Monday through Saturday.
There is a small IGA grocery store in McCaysville for cabins in that area. We recommend that you do your major grocery shopping in Blue Ridge where there is a larger selection of items and labels.

What about alcohol?
Beer and wine is now being served in certain restaurants in the city of Blue Ridge and Fannin County and can be bought in the local grocery stores. Alcohol of other types can be purchased in Ellijay or in TN. No alcohol of any type can be purchased on Sunday in GA.

Can I use my GPS or Navigation System?
Most of the map programs cannot find the roads in this area. If you follow their directions, you will get lost. You can use them to get to the cities, but please use the directions that we send you to get to the cabins.

When is check-in/check-out?
Check-in time is 3:00 PM. Please do not attempt to arrive at the cabin prior to that time unless you have made arrangements for this with us. Check-out is by 11:00 AM. Unless you have made prior arrangements, please make sure you have departed by that time. The cleanliness of our cabins is of the utmost importance to us and we only have limited amount of time to get the cabin and hot tub cleaned and prepared for the next guest.
