The Dillard House

The Dillard House is located on a plateau in the Little Tennessee River Valley of North Georgia with some breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. While they do have some lovely accommodations there, Dillard House is more famous for its restaurant where the chefs prepare all Southern dishes with recipes that have been handed down through the Dillard family for generations. Murphy, NC

Fields of the Wood Bible Park

This unique park is open year-round from sunrise to sunset and features one of the largest displays of the 10 Commandments anywhere. The Commandments are laid out on a hillside in a bible measuring 30 feet by 50 feet with an observation deck at the top of hill. You can walk around the peaceful and serene grounds to explore the All Nations Cross, the Mountain Prayer Chapel, the Psalms of Praise wall and the Baptismal Pool where you can observe people from many different religions being baptized.  There are several picnic areas on the grounds where you can have some lunch and enjoy the serenity and the solitude.

Helen is a Bavarian-themed town on the banks of the Chattahoochee River and home to one of the largest Oktoberfest celebrations in Georgia. It is a little over an hour away and an easy drive from Blue Ridge, Blairsville and Ellijay. If you’re a true fan of the first color movie “Gone With The Wind”, you must visit Scarlet’s Secret; a museum /shop, located in a large style home in the amazing Nacoochee Valley of   North Georgia.
